With apologies to Jeff Foxworthy…
If people drive by your house and can’t see the front door for the trees… You might need a landscape renovation!
If a visitor to your garden asks what that pretty flower is, and you sheepishly answer “I’m not sure it’s a weed”… You might need a landscape renovation!
If you pull back the drapes on your bay window to let a little light in, and all you see is the woody stems of the backside of a Rhododendron… You might need a landscape renovation!
If the editor of “Junkyards and Tumbleweeds” magazine wants your garden to be the cover story of next month’s issue… You might need a landscape renovation!
Comin’ up next week (September 21rst) on the Roundtable, “Renovation and Restoration”.
P.S. If any of the above scenarios have actually happened to you, don’t feel bad, we’ve all been there!

Very funny post.
And if you mow your lawn and find a truck you are a redneck and you do need a garden makeover
Very cute list …
I think that any pretty plant growing that you don’t know the name, try to find out, and then cultivate more of it. Since plants we want to grow are somtimes not willing, maybe we should take what nature gives us for free? Caveat, do make sure the plant is well-behaved!
Great tips Iris, thanks for the comments!
