Inspiration. On the surface, it seems like a simple, unassuming word. But, dig deeper and you’ll realize it’s actually a very powerful and complex word. Inspiration. It’s the creative spark that drives good design – whether you’re designing a garden, a piece of jewelry, or a lamp. It’s the beginning, the starting point, the ‘A HA!’ moment.
But where does inspiration come from? Sometimes, the inspiration for a great garden design that’s beautiful and meets all the clients’ needs is right inside you. It’s there from the minute you walk the property and start talking with your client. Without even trying, you can actually ‘see’ what the finished design will look like.
But at other times, inspiration is far more elusive. How do you find it when you need it most? How do you get the creative juices flowing when the well seems dry? If, what Thomas Edison said is correct, ‘Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration’ where does that 1% come from?
Join the Garden Designers Roundtable next Tuesday December 14th at 1:00 pm when we explore the topic of Inspiration and try to find the 1%.
